Gordonian Henry wins in the Navy Rugby Team!

Gordonian Henry Hughes 10698 (2009) played in the winning Navy Team against Gordonian Brothers Cameron and Michael McDonald at Twickenham earlier this month! It was brilliant to catch up with Henry this week, who is currently completing his GP training in Bristol whilst working with the Royal Navy Reserves, after transferring from the Regulars in August 2022. Henry has given us an update of his involvement with the Royal Navy rugby team: 'This was my third season with Royal Navy (RN) rugby, with the 2020 season cut short by Covid and the 2022 season ending in a narrow defeat to the Army. Beating the Army and winning the Interservices competition in 2023 has been an incredible experience, especially given the Navy have not done this since 2010. A lot of hard work has underpinned this and I am incredibly proud to be part of this team and am grateful for the experiences and friendships I have made along the way. Hopefully, work allowing, I will be able to get involved again next year and build on what has been a fantastic year for RN rugby.’ Look our for Henry in our next edition of The Gordonian! |
